Workshop for Tutors and Admins of Peer-Assisted Learning

Afraa Asfaque attended Gulf Medical University's Certificate of Competence workshop for Peer-Assisted Learning tutors and administrators on 25 February 2025. The program focused on the shared structures that help students teach, guide, and learn from one another effectively. By training within a PAL framework, Afraa developed experience relevant to facilitation, peer collaboration, and the organisation of student-led learning within a health-professions environment.

World Diabetes Day, GMU: Event Organizer

Afraa Asfaque helped organise the Gulf Medical University College of Medicine's World Diabetes Day awareness event on 14 November 2023. The role required coordination around a shared community-health objective rather than attendance alone. Contributing as an organiser gave Afraa early leadership experience in a multidisciplinary university setting and demonstrated how planning, teamwork, and health education come together in a public-facing medical event.
