// About Afraa

MD student. Researcher. Patient advocate.

I'm Afraa Asfaque, a fourth-year MD student at Gulf Medical University, Ajman, building a career on patient advocacy and evidence-based medicine. Outside the lecture hall, I've completed a four-week pediatric clinical observership at Dr. A.A. Chamadiya Children Clinic, co-presented original research on the gut-diet-mind relationship at GMU Research Day, and earned Good Clinical Practice certification through the NIDA Clinical Trials Network. I show up for my community too, from World Health Day blood-pressure screening to student-wellbeing workshops. The thread through it all: patient care starts before diagnosis, and the doctor I'm becoming is being shaped long before graduation.
